Scone charter airline scores top marks in safety audit
Airspeed Aviation is pleased to announce that the US-Based Flight Safety Foundation has renewed its “Gold” status under the Internationally-recognised Basic Aviation Risk Standard.
The BARS program sets a standard of World’s-best practice in Aviation safety and quality management. Third-party auditors and a rigorous Quality Assurance program within the FSF ensures that Charter operators meet the high standard required in their internal policies, management systems, and flight operations.
Gold status under the BARS program indicates a two year commitment to the FSF’s Audit program. Airspeed Aviation was one of the first Australian operators outside the Airlines to adopt the standard in 2012, accredited as Silver in 2014 and Gold in 2015. Successful adoption of the BARS program marks Airspeed Aviation as the only charter airline in its class to meet the Safety & Compliance standards for BHP Billiton, Rio Tinto, Glencore and a number of other top-tier corporates.
Airspeed Aviation is a Charter airline and flying school founded at Scone in the Upper Hunter Valley in 2009 and has expanded to bases in Sydney, Tamworth, Gunnedah and Brisbane. In that time the company has won several awards for Safety and excellence in Customer Service.
